‘Macca keeps adding new gems to his songbook, with nothing to prove except he’s the only genius who can do this... (And, oh yeah — in his spare time, he happens to still be the greatest live performer on Earth.)’
Memory Almost Full Promo Shows
On June 7th 2007 Paul played an intimate secret show at the Electric Ballroom in Camden to a fevered crowd of a thousand people. With all the tickets disappearing within minutes of being announced, it was the hottest and most talked about show in town and was Paul’s first UK live performance since his legendary Glastonbury headline performance in 2004. Following London’s secret gig Paul flew to New York to perform another surprise show at New York’s Highline Ballroom. After New York, Paul then performed a lunchtime set at Hollywood’s Amoeba Records, which saw nearly 900 people pack into the LA shop, before fire marshals made the decision that the building would be unsafe should more fans be allowed in. So, in an attempt to satisfy the hundreds who weren’t admitted, organisers opened the doors to allow those still on the street the opportunity to hear the concert on Sunset Boulevard. Among those in attendance were Ringo Starr, Olivia Harrison, Joe Walsh, Alanis Morissette, Woody Harrelson, Jeff Lynne and Jennifer Love Hewitt.
