Sticking Out Of My Back Pocket: Deep Cuts, Home Recordings & Hidden Gems

01.08.2025

We’re returning to our namesake with a playlist that celebrates the deep cuts that have been tucked away in Paul's back pocket, ready to be rediscovered.

July marked a special anniversary in Paul McCartney history: the birth of Wings. It was during this month in 1971 that Paul and Linda McCartney, alongside Denny Laine and Denny Seiwell, began rehearsals at Rude Studio, a makeshift home studio nestled in the Scottish countryside.

This edition of the playlist takes its cue from the Rude Studio spirit. It’s a celebration of home recordings, alternate takes, and the kind of tracks hidden deep within Paul’s discography. Whether they were recorded in a kitchen, underdubbed, or simply have that something special, check out the latest edition of the 'Sticking Out Of My Back Pocket' playlist. Listen now on Spotify, and don’t forget to explore past editions for even more musical adventures.
