You Gave Me the Answer: How do you and Nancy spend your days off at home?

As a working musician who has spent the last seven decades either creating or performing music, while also enjoying stints as a painter, a writer, a filmmaker and much more, it’s fun to imagine what a typical ‘day in the life’ of Paul McCartney looks like… And it’s even more fun to imagine what a day off looks like! 

The end of 2024 was a particularly busy time for Paul, with his Got Back tour wrapping up in Europe, but it did mean he spent the final weeks of the year at home with friends and family. Away from the demands of the live shows and the extensive travel that involves, we wondered, what does that precious family time entail?

So, this month’s question comes from Joan on Facebook. Take it away, Joan!

Joan: I'm curious, when it's just you and Nancy at home together with a break from all your responsibilities and commitments, what do you do together to relax? What are your shared interests?

Paul: We chat and catch up with each other. We eat lunch or dinner. Well, any meal really, as we love cooking. Sometimes we will watch something on TV together, and I always read before bed, usually a biography, while Nancy finishes watching a series. We’re pretty much like any other normal couple!
