Paul’s forthcoming album, The Boys of Dungeon Lane, is already sparking excitement among fans; not just for its music, but for the deeply personal world it revisits. We’ve been lucky enough to have an early listen and happy to share that the record sees Paul looking back at his earliest days in Liverpool, capturing the friendships, streets, and stories that shaped him long before Beatlemania.

Paul’s album artwork pays homage to the city that raised him. Inspired by Liverpool’s iconic street signs, the cover proudly carries the postcode L24, anchoring the project firmly in the neighbourhoods that defined Paul’s youth.

As we count the days down until Friday 29th May, we sat down with Paul to talk about Liverpool, memory, and the places he still loves to show visitors today.

PaulMcCartney.com asks: We’ve heard that when friends visit Liverpool for the first time, you sometimes give them a personal tour? What are your musts ee spots around the city?

Paul: In Liverpool, Forthlin Road, the house I ended up in is always on the list. Then the Liverpool Institute, which is now LIPA. I show them the site of the first gig we ever played, called the Wilson Hall in Garston. And then I show them everything in between. Where John’s mum used to live, where John used to live, where George used to live, and where Ringo lived. I show them all the spots!

So, there you have it, Paul’s very own Liverpool tour. It must be quite the experience to have a personal tour about these sites which inspired so many great songs! So next time you’re up by the Mersey, perhaps pay a visit to some of Paul’s favourite spots and maybe a quick trip to the edge of town where one would find Dungeon Lane. If you look up the street on Google Maps, you might find a little Easter Egg…

The Boys of Dungeon Lane is yours on Friday 29th May and ‘The Days We Left Behind’ is available to buy/stream now
