'You Gave Me The Answer' – Editha from Germany asks…

30.01.2015

We hope you have recovered from the festive season and are enjoying 2015 as much as we are – it's already been an exciting year here at PaulMcCartney.com!

We started the year with a bang following the New Year's eve release of 'Only One', Paul's first collaboration with Kanye West. This was followed up last weekend with another Kanye collaboration, this time with Rihanna involved!

January also saw the release of 'Hope For the Future' on 12" vinyl, following its digital release in December. This was Paul's first-ever time writing for a video game and the song marks his success in exploring different genres having written orchestral scores, electronica works, and film theme tunes. The epic 'Hope For The Future' features a full orchestra, which has had some of you wondering if Paul has a favourite piece of classical music…

Editha from Germany has been in touch to find out:

"What is your favourite piece of classical music and why?"

We caught up with Paul fresh from his Christmas holiday and he replied,

"Thank you for your question, Editha. I have many favourite pieces of classical music but one of my favourites is a piece that was written by Benjamin Britten for the Queen’s Coronation and played by the guitarist Julian Bream. The title is 'Courtly Dances' from 'Gloriana'".

We'd love to know your favourite piece of classical music in the comments below…
