Liverpool has always had a sound of its own. Long before the world was listening, it was the city’s people and places that shaped Paul – bus rides across town, early gigs and the front rooms where music first started to take hold.
When we recently sat down with Paul to talk about Liverpool, memory and home, it was clear that those early connections are never far away. Asked about showing visitors around the city, he explained:
Paul: “I show them everything in between. Where John’s mum used to live, where John used to live, where George used to live, and where Ringo lived. I show them all the spots!”
The streets, the houses, the spaces in between – everything continues to run through Paul’s songwriting.
