unparalleled run of chart successes in British music history.

Speaking about this achievement, Paul said:

“Guess what? Our album is Number One! Can't get much higher. And we are
well chuffed. My team and the whole gang of people who worked on this thing,
they have done a fantastic job, so thank you to all of them. And thank you to
all of YOU who bought it! And thank you to me!”

The Boys of Dungeon Lane was first announced on 26 March, with BBC Radio
Merseyside premiering the album's lead track, The Days We Left Behind.
Paul McCartney described the track as a "memory song," and it
ultimately provided the inspiration for the album's title.

Released last Friday (29th May) to widespread international
acclaim, The Boys of Dungeon Lane offers listeners a collection of
deeply personal reflections, featuring rare and revealing memories that Paul
McCartney has never previously shared publicly. Alongside these recollections,
the album also includes a selection of newly written love songs, adding another
chapter to the songwriting legacy of one of the most influential cultural
figures of the modern era.

The album's debut at number one continues Paul McCartney's recent chart
dominance. It follows McCartney III, which reached the top of the UK
Albums Chart during the 2020 Christmas period.

With 24 UK number one albums now to his name, Paul McCartney's latest
success further underlines his enduring appeal and his unique place in British
music history.
